La ROH sbarcherà in Giappone

La Ring Of Honor annuncerà prestissimo un tour in Giappone. Al momento i contratti non sono ancora stati firmati, ma sembra ormai certo che la ROH terrà uno show a Tokyo, in Giappone, il prossimo 16 luglio, insieme alla Pro Wrestling NOAH ed un altro la sera successiva ad Osaka, con la Dragon Gate. Entrambe le compagnie giapponesi hanno già lavorato in passato con la ROH.

Doug Gentry, ex CEO ed ex presidente della Ring Of Honor, è morto giovedì a soli 34 anni, vittima di una rara malattia al cuore. Gentry divenne presidente della ROH nel corso del 2004, dopo lo scandalo mediatico che portò all'arresto l'allora presidente Rob Feinstein.

La famosa lottatrice del circuito indipendente, Daizee Haze, ha subito un duro colpo alla fronte quando è stata scagliata sulle transenne dalla sua avversaria Lacey nello show ROH di venerdì scorso. Per fortuna la ragazza non ha riportato seri danni ed ha continuano il match subendo anche manovre pericolose.

Samoa Joe ha lasciato la Ring of Honour, che è stata per lui l'inizio del successo che ha ottenuto e ottiene nella carriera di wrestler professionista.
Le ragioni di questa sua defezione sembrano da attribuire alla dirigenza TNA che ha "consigliato" a Joe di dedicare le sue energie prettamente alla compagnia di Orlando e ai bookings indipendenti che la compagnia gli riserverà.
L'ultimo show che sarà presenziato da Joe sarà il 4 marzo a Liverpool

La Ring Of Honor ha annunciato che ritornerà a Chicago il prossimo 26 Giugno. Allo show prenderà parte anche l'ex campione Bryan Danielson che, dopo la perdita del titolo nel dicembre scorso contro Homicide, salirà sul ring per affrontare l'atleta della NOAH Kenta.

Con un comunicato a sorpresa sul proprio sito ufficiale, la Ring of Honor ha annunciato di aver siglato un accordo con IN DEMAND Network e TVN Entertainment Corporation per la produzione e la messa in onda di show in PPV. L'accordo prevede la produzione di uno show di due ore ogni 60 giorni ed è inizialmente valido per sei show.
Si tratta di un importante primo passo per tentare di fare della ROH una major. Una delle prime conseguenze di questo accordo potrebbe essere la rinuncia ad atleti che lottano anche con la TNA come ad esempio Homicide.

Il booker della ROH Gabe Sapolsky, nel corso di una intervista, ha parlato dell'accordo che porterà presto la compagnia a produrre spettacoli in PPV.

Sapolsky ha detto che The Briscoes, Nigel McGuinness, Bryan Danielson, Roderick Strong, Rocky Romero e Davey Richards hanno firmato già contratti a lungo termine con la compagnia ed anche Jimmy Rave potrebbe presto firmarne uno.

A "Respect is Earned", PPV che verrà registrato a New York City presso il Manhattan Center il prossimo 5 maggio, saranno presenti il ROH champion Takeshi Morishima, ROH Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe, Bryan Danielson, KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji, Roderick Strong, Davey Richards, Rocky Romero, Jimmy Rave, Delirious, Claudio Castagnoli, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Matt Sydal, Daizee Haze, Nigel McGuiness, Adam Pearce, Brent Albright, BJ Whitmer, Erick Stevens, Sara Del Rey, Larry Sweeney, and Tank Toland. Il PPV durerà due ore e sarà venduto anche in dvd.

Vince Russo vorebbe portare alla TNA l'atleta della Ring Of Honor Jimmy Rave, ma per il momento sia il wrestler che la federazione di Orlando non hanno manifestato interesse sul possibile trasferimento. Inoltre non sappiamo se Rave abbia firmato un contratto a lungo termine con la ROH.
